These numbers give you a ‘national presence’ and are particularly useful if you have a customer base that would normally ring a national number.
We can also divert this number abroad for companies that have offices in Europe or USA, ideal if you are relocating your business abroad.
Changes to your 0870 tariff
From 1 August 2009, businesses will no longer be able to generate revenue from their 0870 numbers. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of your new 0870 tariff, as detailed below. The introduction of a call termination charge will also be implemented.
With effect from midnight on 31 July 2009 we will introduce a charge of 3ppm excluding VAT at all times on your 0870 number.
Changing your numbers in time
If you choose to move to another number range with us, we need to know as early as possible as we expect a high volume of requests for new numbers in the forthcoming months.
Move to another number range from Webfold
If you choose to move to another number range, we offer the following:
03, 0843/4, 0845 and 0871/2**.
**0871/2 will be regulated by PhonepayPlus from 1 August 2009. This means that if you would like to use one of these numbers you will have additional regulatory obligations.
Please refer to our website at www.opal.co.uk/ofcom for more information.
You have three options if you are currently using an 0870 prefix number for your business.
Option 1: Maintain Revenue Share - Action: migrate your service from 0870 to 0871
Option 2: Accept a Reduction in Revenue Share - Action: migrate services from 0870 to 0844 or 0845
Option 3: Accept Complete Removal of Revenue Share - Action: do nothing or migrate to 0800 or 03 numbers. We will introduce rental charges from January 2008 to be decided on existing 0870 numbers so we can support our customers, we do not want to take this action but have no choice as call revenue will cease.
